In 2003, a group of Twin Cities Christian leaders, representing faith-based and para-church organizations, met to talk about the possibility of creating an interdenominational radio broadcast geared to the needs of women. In the fall of 2003, KTIS first aired HerPlace Radio.
Over the next four years, HerPlace Radio was supported by volunteers and the leadership of several women’s ministry groups. These women laid the foundation for a regional radio ministry.
In January of 2007, HerPlace Radio was ready to grow. A team of women came together to rename and rebuild a resource website, strengthen the radio broadcasts, and launch a new media ministry called Her Journey. On April 13, 2007, www.herjourney.org was officially launched at the spring 2007 Bridging the Gap Conference.
At this time Her Journey Media operates as an extention of Bridging The Gap, a 501(c)3 not for profit aspect of the Womens Ministry department of the Minnesota District Of The Assemblies Of God.
